Sentosa
Just off the southern coast of Singapore lies Sentosa, a recreational island approximately 0.74% the size of mainland Singapore.
While it holds many fond memories for Singaporeans ever since its development into a recreational destination in the 70s, it is best known to tourists for the Universal Studios theme park.
Interestingly, there is also a residential area nestled on its eastern coast.
This area known as Sentosa Cove was developed at the turn of the millennium.
Having had the chance to visit it, I realized how smart our urban planners had been to make full use of the stunning views of the South China Sea and the unbelievable sea breeze, to transform it into a residential haven that you can’t find on the mainland Singapore.

Sentosa Cove may be exclusive and luxurious, but it's far from being distant or cold. Instead, it's a place filled with warmth and peace.
Here, you'll see children playing soccer on the lush green spaces, families enjoying leisure bike rides, and folks simply strolling or walking their dogs.
The spaciousness, relaxed pace and laid-back vibes here are truly unique and something you won't find on the mainland.
In fact, a family who was interviewed mentioned they absolutely love heading to the beach easily and cycling everywhere they go.
There is a variety of housing options on Sentosa Cove, including waterfront villas, condominiums and bungalows.
What's intriguing is that the price per square foot of some of the properties is lower than many properties on the mainland of Singapore.
Although the overall cost may be higher but, that’s due to the generous floor sizes that you won't typically find on the mainland.
