Dairy Farm & Hillview
Dairy Farm & Hillview
Now, this place isn't just your average neighbourhood; it's got history running through its veins.
It is the namesake of a pioneering dairy farm back in the 1930s -- the talk of the town, the first of its kind to apply modern technology for producing pasteurised milk in the tropics.
The farm ceased operations in the 70s but its legacy lives on through the Magnolia brand, which you see everywhere in Singapore.
Fast forward to today, the place has transformed into an enclave adorned with modern condos nestled in nature, connecting to the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and stretching all the way to MacRitchie Reservoir in central Singapore.
In this urbanised city state, Diary Farm is a rare spot where you can embark on long hikes and mountain biking.
Living here isn't just about four walls and a roof; it's a lifestyle.
It's for folks who appreciate the simple joys of healthy living, who find peace being near nature. Whether you're into trekking, mountain biking, cycling, or just soaking up that suburban charm, Dairy Farm has got you covered.
But wait, there's more. Right across the main road is the Rail Corridor
– a brilliant makeover of the old railway track into a 24km haven for cyclists, joggers, leisure strollers, and anyone who simply enjoys basking in Mother Nature.
Let's talk accessibility
– Need to hit up Bugis or Marina Bay for some city vibes?
The nearest Hillview MRT station is part of the blue Downtown Line, which will bring you to town in about 30 minutes.
The blue line is my favourite line, its less crowded than the green East-West Line and the red North-South Line. Plus, the cabins are newer and more comfortable.
And for those who prefer the wheels, the BKE expressway is practically right at your doorstep.
Jurong Lake District
Jurong Lake District
This strip of land is divided into three parcels. Parcel 2 was launched in late 2023 as LakeGarden Residences with 306 units.
Parcel 3 will be launched as a 440-unit project named Sora. The preview has just commenced on 22Jun 2024, with the e-balloting for a queue number on 4Jul, and the booking day on 6Jul 2024. Book viewing appointment
Parcel 1 is still occupied by an old condominium development which has been attempting an en-bloc sale.
It has been solidified in the Masterplan that the Jurong Lake District (JLD) will transform into Singapore's largest commercial and recreational hub beyond the city center, essentially becoming the second CBD of Singapore.
Included in this grand plan is the new Science Center and a whopping 90 hectares of land dedicated to parks and water bodies.
You’ll notice on the map that there is a strip of land to the left. This area is zoned for residential purposes.
Those lucky ones to reside here will enjoy unobstructed views of the park and lake, unparalleled to any other part of Singapore.
The Best of Both Worlds
Besides the much-valued unblock view, what makes living here invaluable is that, it is a part of the grand Jurong transformation yet at the same time, maintains a tranquil distance of approximately 4km from the bustling town center on the other side of the lake.
This spot is highly appealing if you value unobstructed views, appreciate having a park right at your doorstep, enjoy outdoor exercise and is thrilled to be a part of one of the greatest transformations in Singapore!
East Coast
East Coast
Stretching for 15 kilometers along the eastern coastline, East Coast Park stands as Singapore's longest linear coastal park.
Running parallel to the park is the ECP highway, while on the opposite side, a line of condominiums takes advantage of the seaside location.
During my previous night cycling trips, I was amazed to see joggers and dog walkers out at 4 am in the dark!
Living here isn't just about getting a sea view; it's about embracing a lifestyle favored by families seeking sun-soaked weekends on the beach, and by those who enjoy long runs, water sports like windsurfing and wingfoiling, or simply taking a walk by the sea.
Oh, let's not forget, it's less than a 30-minute ride to the airport, making it exceptionally convenient for frequent travelers.
